Paper tokens and handwritten tags get smudged, torn and swapped. In a busy dry cleaning shop that means the worst conversation of the week: "Sir, we can't find your blazer." UltraClean's garment tagging replaces guesswork with a barcode on every single item, so each garment is accounted for at every step.
How tagging works at the counter
- Create the order. Look up the customer by name or phone, add each garment with its service type and price.
- Print the tags. UltraClean generates one barcode per garment. The desktop companion app sends tags and the bill straight to your tag and bill printers — no print dialog.
- Attach and go. The tag stays with the garment through washing, dry cleaning, pressing and packing.
Scan at every hand-off
Each scan moves the garment to its next status and records who did it and when. The bulk scan screen lets staff scan a whole stack of garments in one go — for example, everything going into a dispatch to the workshop, or everything coming back ready.
- Per-garment status timeline from intake to delivery
- Find any order by garment code, order code, customer name or phone number
- Partial deliveries — hand over the ready items and keep the rest open
- Defects and re-cleans recorded against the exact garment
Why per-garment tracking matters
Tracking at order level tells you an order is "in process". Tracking at garment level tells you that 3 of the 4 items are ready on rack B and the silk saree is still at the workshop waiting for customer consent on a stain. That is the difference between a vague answer and a confident one when the customer calls. It also gives you a complete audit trail when a dispute happens.
Garment tagging is the foundation the rest of UltraClean builds on — workshop manifests, quality checks and ready-for-pickup updates all work off the same barcode.
